Martin Jay Tibbitts passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, during a tragic plane crash in Sheboygan, Wis. Marty was an accomplished pilot and his loss will be felt not just by family and friends, but also the Aviation and warbird community worldwide.

Marty was smart, creative, witty, generous, outgoing, welcoming, funny, kind, quirky, open-minded, a science buff, history enthusiast, lover of adventure and passionate about life. He brought his big smile and fun demeanor wherever he went.

Marty graduated from University Liggett School in 1986. He was a human biology major at Stanford University and graduated in 1990. He became a successful entrepreneur, founding a diverse group of businesses. He was a proud member of the Young Presidents Organization and was awarded Crain’s 40 Under 40 honor in 2007.

Marty is survived by his wife, Belinda Tibbitts; children, Mason and Julia Tibbitts; stepdaughter, Cameron; parents, Larry and Carole Tibbitts; siblings, Shelly Tucker and JC Tibbitts, and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends who will sorely miss his presence.
