Norsemen stay hot

The Grosse Pointe North girls’ hockey team finished 1-0-1 last week in Michigan Metro Girls High School Hockey League action.

The Norsemen hosted Port Huron and Northville. They tied Port Huron 3-3 and beat Northville 3-0 to improve to 8-8-1 in the league and 10-9-1 overall.

The Norsemen trailed 3-1 as junior Kallin Morris scored for the home team.

The Norsemen battled back to send the game to overtime as sophomore Jen Kusch and junior Kelly LaBarge scored. Kusch finished with a goal and two assists.

The Norsemen hosted a winless Northville squad last weekend, winning 3-0.

The home team got on the board when sophomore Lindsay Gallagher scored a power play goal, assisted by sophomores Elizabeth Gallagher and Caroline Bock.

The home team put the game away by adding two more goals.

Junior Karina Lucchese scored at the 2:36 mark and at the 2:17 mark Elizabeth Gallagher tallied. Elizabeth Gallagher assisted the first goal and Lucchese on the second.
