Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe has opened a 2,800 square-foot outpatient center to treat adults with varicose veins. The Beaumont Vein Center is located at 87 Kercheval, Grosse Pointe Farms.

The vein center specializes in non-surgical solutions. Treatments include laser vein ablation, a minimally invasive treatment using laser energy to cauterize varicose veins in the legs; phlebectomy, the removal of veins through micro incisions; and sclerotherapy for the treatment of spider and varicose veins using a fine needle to inject a blocking agent.

“By delivering just the right wavelength of laser energy to the right tissue, the vein closes while the body automatically routes the blood to other healthy veins,” says Thomas E. Baribieri, M.D., interventional and diagnostic radiologist. A physician referral is not required, unless specified by the patient's insurance provider. For more information, call (3130 473-1084.
