The Grosse Pointe Wrestling Club Kicks-off its 10th season.Members begin training this Thursday at Grosse Pointe South High School.It is open to any first- through eighth-grade student in the Grosse Pointes. The junior high team competes from November through January, while the elementary school club runs until March 1.Practices are 5:45 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday in the South high wrestling room in the main gym. The cost for the entire season is $50, while the junior high cost is $30 through January. The cost is $20 for the second member of a family.The team is coached by founder Tony Cimmarrusti, who wrestled and coached at Harvard University. He has more than three decades of wrestling experience.The head coach is former South standout (and club member) Sergio Rodriguez. Additionally, former head coach Scott Cairo will assist, as will several other Grosse Pointe alum wrestlers and parents.
