The Mothers’ Club of Grosse Pointe South and Parents’ Club of Grosse Pointe North present the 2012 Holiday Concert and Tea event, featuring performances from the choirs of both North and South high schools. It’s scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the North Performing Arts Center. Performances include music from holiday standards and favorites, as well as up-beat, high-energy production numbers, and include special appearances from North ensembles, Acafella and CounterPointe, and South’s Santa Tappers. Everything culminates in the concert’s grand finale, “The Messiah’s Hallelujah Chorus,” a combined effort from both school choirs.“This concert is offered as a gift to the community, especially senior citizens, and as a thank you for the support of our public schools,” event co-chair Amy Muawad said in a press release. “The concert is also an opportunity for the students of both high schools to join together to share their talents and the spirit of the season.”Complimentary coffee, tea, punch and cookies will be available following the concert, as well as homemade holiday cookies for purchase. Admission to the event is free.“This is an event the community looks forward to every year, especially the seniors,” said co-chair Cheryl Costantino. “It’s our way of saying thank you.”For more information, contact Muawad at (313) 522-8062, (313) 881-3382 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or Costantino by phone at (313) 720-4184 or e-mail at email@example.com.
