“Oklahoma” is Eddie Tujaka’s third show with Grosse Pointe Theatre.

He appeared last season in “A Trip to Bountiful” and “Jekyll & Hyde.”

He appears through Sept. 30 as Andrew Carnes, father of Ado Annie, in Rogers and Hammerstein’s musical, “Oklahoma.”

“After my first production, one of the things I fell in love with is the Grosse Pointe Theatre is like a big family,” said Tujaka, a lieutenant with City of Grosse Pointe public safety.

“Everyone is so friendly, so accepting.”

He compared joining to “instantly” making 100 new friends.

“There’s some amazing talent,” Tujaka said.

He encouraged people to consider joining the theater.

“No matter if you don’t think you have talent, there are so many jobs to bring a production to the stage, they need the help,” he said.

Tujaka is preparing for his next roll in GPT’s second production of the season, “Rehearsal for Murder,” opening Nov. 4.
