Mary Louise Wenz

Former Grosse Pointe Park resident, Mary Louise Wenz, 73, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2003, at her home in Detroit.

Mrs. Wenz was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y. in 1929 and moved to Detroit as a young child. Later, her family moved to Windsor, where she attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated in 1947.

It was at the University of Detroit where she met her future husband James, and graduated in 1952 with a law degree.

Mrs. Wenz married in 1954 and was employed as a staff attorney for the New York Central Railroad prior to settling down to raise a family.

She was a loving person who enjoyed English history, reading a good novel, solving a difficult crossword puzzle, all animals, especially dogs, and, most importantly, being with her family and close friends.

She is survived by her sons, Chris (Laura) and Carl (Ann); her daughter, Martha Miller (Keith); four grandchildren, Sarah Wenz, Jennie Wenz, Brian Wenz and Lloyd Miller; and her sister, Patricia Flood.

She was predeceased by her husband, James.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 7, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home in Grosse Pointe Woods.

Interment is in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
