Steven Ward Robinson

City of Grosse Pointe resident Steven Ward Robinson, 43, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2003, after a lifetime struggle with cystic fibrosis.

Mr. Robinson was raised in Grosse Pointe, graduated magna cum laude from University Liggett School and attended the University of Michigan.

He prepared income taxes and qualified to practice before the IRS.

Mr. Robinson then became a supervisor in the Family Practice Center and later a systems analyst at Mount Sinai Hospital, which later became part of the Detroit Medical Center.

Mr. Robinson had a great love of life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and dogs, music, literature, nature and all humanity.

Despite failing health, Mr. Robinson encouraged and consoled all those he touched, known or barely known, particularly the other cystic fibrosis patients and their families.

He is survived by his parents, Howard and Ann Robinson; a sister, Jean K. Robinson; three brothers, Ben Y., Howard H. III and Thomas R.; a niece; and six nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chas. Verheyden Inc. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church in Grosse Pointe Farms.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Metropolitan Detroit Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2265 Livernois, Troy, MI 48083 or the charity of one's choice.

Philip N. Skillman

A memorial service will be held for Philip N. Skillman on Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at the Birmingham Community House.

Mr. Skillman passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2003.
