Thanks for successful All Night Party

To the Editor:

The school year has come to an end. Diplomas were granted as the heavens mercifully spared the graduation ceremonies. The flurry of graduation celebrations is finally reduced to a trickle, and we are ready to pick ourselves up and look to the future of postgraduate plans. Before we move on, however, it is only fitting that we take this opportunity to thank those who were involved in the success of our Grosse Pointe North All Night Party.

This is an event that culminates after a year of preparation and planning. Our committee sub-chairs help by organizing the entertainment, food, decorations, gifts, volunteers, etc. You simply have to walk in the door the night of the party to see that this could not possibly be a "one-man, or two-man" operation. To these parents, (you know who you are), who donated their talents, energy and time not to mention the countless organizational meetings we tip our hats in thanks. We couldn't possibly have done it without you. Thank you so much for making it the success it was.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank those businesses and parents who either donated money, goods or services to the party. Special thanks go to the City of Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety, the City of Grosse Pointe Shores Public Safety, Mr. C's Car Wash, Exway Electric, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Chicken Shack, Fairway Packing, Krispy Kreme, Mother Waddles Car Donation Program, Closetman Custom Closets, Wild Birds Unlimited, Little Caesars Enterprises, Olga's Restaurant, Jet's Pizza, Marshall Field's Eastland, Target Eastland, Grosse Pointe Dermatology, Noelle George, Sally DiLoreto, The Wujek Family, Stella Urso, Joseph Cottone, Phil Driscoll, Paul Ventimiglia, Harry Kurtz, Farmer Jacks, Flame Furnace, Pointe Electronics, plus a number of anonymous donors. A very special thank you to the Class of 2002 and Doyle Meredith of Viacom for the 20-foot Norseman Congratulatory Banner to be passed along to all future graduating Grosse Pointe North classes.

To our parent volunteers the night of the event é thank you! We know how difficult this time of year is for seniors' parents, especially with your own personal graduation celebration plans (not to mention the many other demands on your time), so thank you for taking the time to be there with us chaperoning, serving food, and otherwise ensuring the safe culmination of a fun-filled evening for our graduates.

Finally, on behalf of all the graduating seniors, we need to take this time to recognize and appreciate the efforts of the many people who shaped the four years of our students' experience at Grosse Pointe North. Many thanks go to the faculty, administrators, support staff, dedicated coaches and custodial staff. Parent groups such as the Parents' Club, Norsemoms, Athletic Boosters, Band and Orchestra Boosters, and Choir Boosters have given much support, along with monetary donations to contribute to the successes of our children. And last, but not least, to our parent reps and class sponsor, Nicole Westfall, who directed so much of their energies to making these four years successful and enjoyable for the Class of 2002, we thank you. It has been a pleasure knowing and working alongside all of you.

To the Class of 2002, it has been an absolute joy watching you develop from children into the adults you are today. May life include much success and happiness, and we hope you always carry close within you the memories of the people and events that were so much a part of your high school experience. Good luck and best wishes to all.
