Access to the arts

To the Editor:

If anyone, Grosse Pointers should realize our quality of life is inextricably linked to the health of the city of Detroit, if only by virtue of our proximity.

What can we do to help positively impact the economy of the whole region, contribute to the revitalization of Detroit, and at the same time, give a gift to all children (and ourselves) across all communities? support Proposal K.

Think about it, the cultural institutions are a proven economic catalyst, and one of the only ones that also provide educational opportunities for children and adults. It's a win-win.

To quote Emily Dickinson, "how frugal is the chariot that uplifts the human soul." For the few bucks a year it will cost me I'm proud to pay for K.

Everyone should have access to the arts. They can enrich our lives for the short time we're on this planet.
