The Grosse Pointe South boys' tennis team had a busy first few days of action last week.
The Blue Devils opened with an 8-0 win over Grosse Ile.
Winners in their singles matches were Nick Paolucci, No. 1; Patrick Willard, No. 2; Doug Kubek, No. 3; and Teddy Sweeney, No. 4.
At No. 1 doubles, Mikey Schaller and Will Norris won, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Brendan Clune and Nick Costakis.
Ben Abud and Morgan Warner won at No. 3 doubles, and the duo of Kevin Dietz and Geron Gosselin won at No. 4 doubles.
The following day the Blue Devils were in the middle of a match against Ann Arbor Huron before the thunderstorm halted play.
It will resume where each match left-off Thursday, Sept. 4.
South came back to sweep Sterling Heights Stevenson, winning 8-0, as Paolucci, Willard, Kubek and Sweeney won.
With Schaller out of town, R.J. Stewart filled in and won with Norris.
The other doubles teams, Clune and Costakis, Abud and Warner, and Dietz and Gosselin, were also victorious.
The Blue Devils, 2-1, also faced Troy and lost 7-1, with Paolucci earning the only victory.
