The Grosse Pointe South girls' golf team turned in another solid performance at the state finals.

Last weekend, the Blue Devils trailed state champ Plymouth by two strokes after the first day of the tournament and finished fourth at Michigan State University Forest Akers West.

Plymouth won the Division 1 state title with a 706, followed by Rochester Hills Stoney Creek with a 710, Troy with a 711, Grosse Pointe South with a 726, Ann Arbor Pioneer with a 728, East Kentwood with a 729, Saline with a 732, Novi with a 746, Lake Orion with a 752, Holt with a 759, Brighton with a 762, Davison with a 772, Dearborn with a 787 and Rockford with a 799.

Despite finishing fourth, senior Lily Pendy won the individual medalist honors, shooting a 150, four strokes ahead of runner-up Elayna Bowser of Dearborn. Teammate and fellow senior Tenley Shield was fourth with a 159.

Head coach Mike Rennell's other scorers were Ally Dalman with a 203 and Mia Adams with a 215.

Dalman, Adams and Lucy Buzolits, who also competed in the finals, are underclassmen and return next season.
