Knights win two; ready for showdown

February 14, 2013
The University Liggett boys’ basketball team prepared for its big first-place showdown with two easy division wins last week.

The Knights went on the road and crushed Plymouth Christian Academy 77-53 and Bloomfield Hills Roeper 54-38, improving to 9-1 in the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference and 10-3 overall.

In the first game against PCA, senior Connor Fannon was a one-man wrecking crew, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

He followed that with a 10-point effort as the Knights defeated Roeper. Senior KeVaughn Jackson also scored 10 points and senior Eric Ewing led the way with 24 points.

Head coach Sidney Johnson and his Knights head down the stretch tied with Allen Park Inter-City Baptist and Southfield Christian atop the MIAC standings.

The Knights face each foe on the road and Inter-City Baptist plays Southfield Christian, too, making for an interesting final two weeks.
