Grosse Pointe North's girls' hockey team is still mathematically alive in the chase for a division title.

The Norsemen gained 3-of-4 points last week, losing 3-2 in overtime to Ann Arbor and beating Port Huron 5-4. The OT loss still earned them a point.

With four games left in the regular season, the Norsemen are 11-2-1-1 for 24 points.

They have big games left with the two teams ahead of them, Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood and Grosse Pointe South.

For head coach Joe Lucchese and the Norsemen, seniors Katie Bowles and Sara Villani scored goals in the overtime loss to Ann Arbor.

Sophomores Nicole Haggerty and Kelly LaBarge each had an assist.

North won a big road game with eight girls recording at least one point, including freshman Elizabeth Gallagher who had two goals and two assists.

Other goal scorers were freshman Lindsay Gallagher, senior Bryn Moody and Villani. Those netting assists were LaBarge, senior C.J. McCarthy, Moody, senior Jacci Sherry (two), senior Natalie Skorupski and Villani.
