The Blue Devils of Grosse Pointe South were dealt another loss this season, this time by the Eagles of Madison Heights High School, 51-37.

Interior play and athleticism seemed to be the key elements in Madison Heights’ victory.

“To start off the first quarter, we handled their athleticism well,” said head coach Dave Grauzer, “We held on, but soon we just had a difficult time putting the ball in the basket.”

Junior Joshua Gray carried the Blue Devils early with his shooting as his early three-point shot allowed the Blue Devils to take the lead.

However, the Blue Devils were not able to hold off Madison Heights’ man in the middle, Nick Wallace, who finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 7 blocks.

Gray finished with 12 points and teammate Joe Becker finished with five points and seven rebounds.

Earlier in the week, South, 2-1 in the MAC Blue Division and 3-7 overall, lost 48-35 to host Clawson.
