University Liggett's football team made quick work of Auburn Hills Oakland Christian in its division game last weekend.

The host Knights scored seven first-half touchdowns and used a second-half running clock to win 46-0, improving to 3-0 in the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference and 4-1 overall.

Senior quarterback Nate Gaggin continued his fine play, completing 5-of-6 passes for 112 yards and one touchdown, a 29-yard strike to freshman Thomas Jackson.

Jackson rushed for 67 yards on six carries with touchdown runs of 42 and 2 yards, plus junior Darryl Lewis gained 106 yards rushing on eight carries with a 1-yard TD run early in the first quarter.

Gaggin led the rushing attack with 117 yards on six carries, scoring on runs of 33 yards, 33 yards and 40 yards.

Defensively, senior Dan Baird had 12 tackles and junior Antonio Malkoun had eight and a fumble recovery. Sophomore Caleb Stokes and senior Stephen Benard each had seven tackles.
