Trombly Elementary fifth-graders reenacted the Boston Tea Party, complete with a drum and fife band, dumping 'tea' into the harbor and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The students learned about this time in history through social studies teacher Helen Lengel. Above, students, dressed in period costume, sign the Declaration of Independence.

Below, Dylan Huston and Katie Maraldo, along with other fifth graders, dump grass clippings (in place of tea) into the lake, reenacting when demonstrators in defiance of the May 10, 1773 Tea Act, disguised as American Indians, dumped tea into the Boston Harbor.
