Each month, third graders from Maire Elementary School visit with their new friend at Services for Older Citizens.
November 14, 2013
Sarah Neely’s third grade class recently visited their new friends at Services for Older Citizens.

During their visit, the students experienced a “Passport to Understanding Aging” and learned about vision challenges such as: glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts and yellowing of the lens.

They also learned about hearing loss, arthritis, loss of taste and smell and much more.

After the presentation, the students enjoyed lunch with the seniors.

“Who had more fun — the seniors or the students?” Neely asked. “We think it was a tie.”
