GPA forensics earns five first place awards

The Grosse Pointe Academy seventh and eighth grade forensics team competed in the annual Eastside Catholic Forensics League meet Saturday, Dec. 8, at St. Thecla Catholic School in Clinton Township, and earned five total first place awards.

Duo interpretation teams of Nick Connell and Karina Minanov and Megan McCarren and Hannah Lemanski earned two first place awards and a second place, respectively. Each of the teams received a plaque for second place overall.


Brad Bixler placed first and second in drama, RaeAnne Woodman first and third in drama and in multiple interpretation, the team of Nicholas Bojarczyk, Jeffrey Buhl, Ian Homsy, Alex McWood and Markus Minanov were awarded a first place.

A second duo interpretation team, of Grace Andreasen and Morgan Connell, received awards for second and third places, Brittinie Hughes won second and third in declamation, Luke Roberts two third place awards in storytelling and Spencer Warezak a third in impromptu.
