Junior high students in St. Paul on the Lake Catholic School's TAP program performed "The Sneetches," Dr. Seuss's satire of discrimination between races and cultures, for the school last Thursday in the gymnasium.

"I chose this play/story as it teaches a great lesson in a fun way," said JoAnne Keating, TAP coordinator.

"Since we are putting the play on for the younger grades, the junior high students get the message as well by teaching it."

The TAP program places sixth, seventh and eighth graders in groups, in which they make acquaintances with each other and collaborate on projects throughout the year. Keating's Play in a Day was their first project. The varying groups worked on costumes and scenery and as actors, singers and readers. Four groups also previewed the story for lower grades and followed up with a question and answer session.
