South to host district college night

September 27, 2012
Students and parents interested in meeting with representatives from more than 150 Michigan and out-of-state colleges and universities have the opportunity from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Grosse Pointe South High School.

It's the district's 33rd Annual College Night, in which representatives from a tentative list of more than 150 colleges and universities present materials and answer questions in the school's main gym.

Select schools have also opted to make formal presentations, allowing students and parents a more in-depth look into the schools' offerings.

Presentations are divided into three 30-minute sessions, the first scheduled from 6:10 to 6:40 p.m., the second from 6:50 to 7:20 and the third from 7:30 to 8.

This year, the College for Creative Studies, Eastern Michigan University, Everest Institute, Harvard University, Michigan State University, MSU's School of Osteopathic Medicine, Northwestern University, Saint Louis University, the University of Michigan and University of Michigan Dearborn are scheduled to present.

College night is open to all students in the Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods communities, as well as those from Warren DeLaSalle Collegiate High School, Warren Regina High School, St. Clair Shores South Lake High School, University Liggett School and University of Detroit Jesuit High School.
