The Grosse Pointe North and South high school jazz bands open the free 2014 Music on the Plaza series at 7 p.m. on the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe stage, the corner of St. Clair and Kercheval, City of Grosse Pointe.

Saturday, June 7

Wheel 'n' Deal flea market is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. The event is free and held rain or shine.


West Park Farmers Market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Grosse Pointe Farms city council meets at 7 p.m. in council chambers.

Grosse Pointe Park city council meets at 7 p.m. in council chambers.

Thursday, June 12

The Paul Carey Organ Trio, featuring Benny Reeves, plays at 7 p.m. on the Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe stage, the corner of St. Clair and Kercheval, City of Grosse Pointe.

The sixth annual giant garage sale is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 21800 Marter, St. Clair Shores. Food and baked goods are available. Proceeds benefit the church and its nursery school and toddler center.
