A parade to celebrate the Grosse Pointe Woods Shores Little League championship will kick off the city’s Fall Fest Saturday, Sept. 21, beginning at 3:45 p.m. and ending on the front lawn of the city hall complex on Mack.

In addition to the parade and welcoming ceremony for the team, the Fall Fest features something for the entire family, including Donnie’s Zoo to You, sponsored by Lou’s Pet Shop; face painting; a beer and wine tent; live entertainment by Motor City Mix; and picnic fare including hot dogs, brats and corn on the cob.

And for the football fantatics, the Michigan State University versus University of Notre Dame football game will be broadcast in the food tent.

“This will be a community celebration packed with festivities and fun for all ages,” said Sue Como from Woods city administration. “We’re looking forward to everyone joining in.”

There is no charge for any of the events, other than for the adult beverages. Fall Fest runs until 9 p.m.
