Grosse Pointe Park — Fashionistas are invited to put on their best and head to the next “After 6 on Kercheval” night Saturday, Aug. 10.

The night’s theme is “An Evening of Style” and guests are invited to come dressed in their favorite high fashion designs and vie for a chance to walk the runway set up by Voila Boutique and Do, by Hair Co.

Throughout the evening a judge will be mingling with the crowd and selecting people to show off their fashions on the catwalk. Two events are scheduled, one at 7:30 p.m., the other at 9 p.m. and a best dressed winner will be crowned.

“Be fun, be daring and come strut your stuff,” said Terry Solomon, the Park’s director of parks and recreation. “We definitely plan on ending our season on a ‘fashionable note.’”

In addition to the fashion show, After 6 on Kercheval features the band, RELICS, with Atwater Brewery serving adult beverages and a snow cone vendor for the children. There will also be several food and snack vendors serving up everything from full meals to light snacks.

Keeping with the fashion theme of the evening, a silent movie featuring clips of hair styles and fashions, put together by Park resident Sonja Steis, will be shown on the inflatable screen.

“We guarantee it will bring forth lots of giggles and ‘look at that,’” Solomon said.

Kercheval between Nottingham and Maryland will be closed to traffic beginning at 4 p.m., with the evening’s event beginning at 6 p.m. Event admission is free, however, there is a charge for food and beverages.

This will be the last After 6 event for this summer, Solomon said.
