CITY OF GROSSE POINTE — Resident-only permit parking is allowed on Maumee between Cadieux and Notre Dame.

A petition registering 100 percent support from residents of the block prompted city officials to enact the new policy.

The area had been off limits to on-street parking.

“Residents with narrow drives or more than one vehicle have problems with not being able to move around vehicles or leave them out when having guests at their home,” explained Peter Dame, City of Grosse Pointe manager, in a memo.

It will cost about $200 to print parking permits and replace current ‘No parking” signs with those indicating permit parking, Dame added.

“This permit system has been temporary tested for more than two months without problems,” Dame said.
