GROSSE POINTE SHORES — Santa arrives by fire truck at city hall during the evening of Sunday, Nov. 25.
He meets children, joins in singing carols, makes jokes and helps Grosse Pointe Shores residents celebrate lighting the municipal Christmas tree.
Ceremonies start at 6 p.m.
Hot cocoa is provided by the Shores Improvement Foundation.
Donations of non-perishable food items to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit are accepted at city hall through Wednesday, Dec. 28.
Also accepted are gently used winter outerwear.
Donations to the Michigan Humane Society are accepted at city hall through Wednesday, Dec. 28.
The wish list includes AAA batteries, dog and puppy food, cat and kitten food, cat litter, blankets, towels, cat and dog toys, staplers, Post-it notes, Sharpie markers and second-stage baby food.
