Shores man heads state's college of physicans

Grosse Pointe Shores resident Louis D. Saravolatz M.D. was elected governor of the Michigan Chapter, American College of Physicians.

He will become governor-elect at the next internal medicine national meeting in San Francisco in April. Saravolatz will be in that position for a year and become the new governor for a four-year term for the Michigan chapter at the American College of Physicians national meeting in Orlando, Fla., in April 2014.

He provides leadership for more than 4,000 Michigan internists who are members.

Saravolatz is on staff at St. John Hospital and Medical Center.
