Remodeling ideas at kitchen tour

September 27, 2012
Pick up kitchen design ideas or view eight recently remodeled Grosse Pointe kitchens by attending the annual Henry Ford Medical Center Cottage Auxiliary Kitchen Tour from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30.

Kitchens range in size and style from modest to sprawling and ultra modern to traditional. Those wanting to add a taste of fun to their tour can take part in the Kitchen Tour Preview Party from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, which includes a tour of all eight remodeled Grosse Pointe kitchens plus hors d'oeuvres, wine and cheese, a light strolling supper and desserts served at select homes.

This kitchen in the newly built City of Grosse Pointe lakefront home is on the Cottage Auxiliary Kitchen Tour and designed by Mutschler Kitchens of Grosse Pointe Farms.
As you tour the kitchens, designers, architects and builders who created each kitchen can discuss ideas about a specific kitchen project. Tour visitors can also see the latest trends in design and appliances. Proceeds from this year's tour benefit the Henry Ford Cottage Women's Diagnostic Center.

Preview Party tickets cost $35 for patron and $50 for benefactor. General admission tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 on day of tour. They are on sale at the Cottage Gift Shop; Wild Birds Unlimited, 20485 Mack, Grosse Pointe Woods; The League Shop, 72 Kercheval, Grosse Pointe Farms; and Posterity: A Gallery, 17005 Kercheval in the Village.

Purchase tickets the day of the tour at 1406 Buckingham, Grosse Pointe Park, or 60 Renaud, Grosse Pointe Shores.

No cameras or baby strollers are allowed on the tour. For more information, call (313) 885-0604 or (313) 881-6784.
