Ecumenical breakfast

Grosse Pointe Men's Ecumenical breakfast begins at 6:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, with coffee, at the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church, 16 Lakeshore, Grosse Pointe Farms. A buffet breakfast is served at 7:15 a.m. and the speaker is at 7:45 a.m. Adjournment is at 8:15 a.m.

The speaker is the Rev. Peter Henry, minister of the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church.

St. Paul

St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 375 Lothrop, Grosse Pointe Farms, holds its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, and Saturday, Sept. 15.

Items to be sold include furniture, adult clothing and shoes, household goods, children's clothing, toys and games, sporting goods, electronics, small appliances, hardware, holiday items and jewelry.

A boutique area includes quality, vintage, antique and new items.

Christ Church

Christ Church, 61 Grosse Pointe Blvd., Grosse Pointe Farms, offers Evenson at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, with the Schola choir.

The services is drawn from the Bible and may include Psalms, lessons from the Old and New Testaments and canticles.

A reception follows the service.

First English

The Board of Social Action at First English Evangelical Lutheran Church, 800 Vernier, Grosse Pointe Woods, sponsors a shred event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

Residents can bring old papers and files, 10 box maximum per person, to be professionally shredded. A free will donation is requested.
