The Greater Detroit Area Health Council Board of Directors and its membership approved the nomination of John Broad of Grosse Pointe Farms at its annual meeting Friday, June 12.

Broad is the president and chief executive officer of Crime Stoppers of Michigan.

Other executives from the health care, corporate and nonprofit sectors also were appointed to the board June 12.

Kelly Herron of Lake Orion, executive director of St. Francis Cabrini Clinic, replaces a seat held by Sister Mary Ellen Howard. Other appointees include Mona Makki, LLP, of Dearborn, deputy director with ACCESS; Terry Merritt of Novi, senior vice president at Walbridge, who also was appointed to the executive committee; and Matthew Walsh of Rochester Hills, senior vice president and chief operating officer at Health Alliance Plan, who also was appointed to the executive committee.

“The nominations approved at the GDAHC 2015 annual meeting reflect the reach of our organization deep into the health care as well as the corporate and nonprofit sectors,” said Kate Kohn-Parrott, GDAHC president and CEO. “Their individual perspectives, insights and experiences will be a valuable addition to the current board member roster.”
