St. Paul school

St. Paul Crawl is from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, with proceeds benefitting St. Paul on the Lake School.

Attendees purchase lanyards for $12 each or two for $20 to receive discounts, food, drinks and a chance to win prizes at Grosse Pointe businesses, such as City Kitchen Restaurant & Bar, Antonio's in the Park, Red Crown, The Hill Seafood & Chop House, Village Palm, Side Street Diner, Luxe Bar and Grill, Rustic Cabins Bar, Village Grille, Skyetique and Atwater Brewery.

Lanyards can be purchased at participating vendors, at St. Paul School or online at paystpaul.com.

Garden tour

The 23rd annual Grosse Pointe Garden Tour, sponsored by the Grosse Pointe Garden Center, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, rain or shine.

Six residential gardens, plus the Trial Gardens and the Veterans Garden at the War Memorial, are on tour. Master Gardeners, artists, garden columnist Nancy Szerlag and perennial specialist Susan Martin will be at the private gardens. A Grosse Pointe Symphony string quartet will be performing at one of the gardens on tour days.

Pre-tour tickets cost $12 and are available at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial and Wild Birds Unlimited. Tickets on tour days cost $15.

An original watercolor painting by artist, Robert Fionda, along with six other prizes will be raffled as part of the tour. Raffle tickets are $5 each or three for $10.

Proceeds benefit the education, beautification, horticulture and conservation of the community.

Holley Institute

The Holley Institute hosts its 11th annual Celebrate America at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the Country Club of Detroit.

The event includes a family barbecue and children's activities.

Proceeds benefit deaf, deaf and blind and hard of hearing children's programs.

Bruce Post VFW

Author and commentator Trevor Loudon discusses "The Enemies Within — Progressives in the U.S. Congress" at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at the Bruce Post VFW Hall, 28404 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores.

The public can attend the free event.

Loudon is an international libertarian author, researcher, activist, blogger and commentator.

He is leader of the libertarian movement in his native New Zealand and had a role in the documentary motion picture film "Agenda."
